Sanctuary Manaakitanga (Night Shelter)

Sanctuary Manaakitanga opened in June 2018.  We are open for registrations every night of the year from 8-10pm.  The facility is then locked until 6am and security guards are on active duty along with the Shelter Manager.

Our Purpose - to provide safe, secure facilities that are adequately staffed to support homeless individuals including women and children

Our Why - New Zealand has a growing housing problem that affects the most vulnerable members in our society.  We see a need to offer help to those in need by supporting them to have access to basic needs such as food, shelter, safety, and acceptance

Our Values - working together, aroha, kindness, role modelling, manaakitanga, advocacy, empowerment, whakamana whanau, resilience, effectiveness, holistic, safety, integrity

"Ahakoa he iti he pounamu - even though it is small it is a treasure"
